I think it is important that all clubs get a mention as much as possible for two reasons.

Clubs need the support to keep it viable to keep running and new converts need a place to go for advice and help in their new hobby. It is also a good meeting place for people to gather and converse with others that otherwise could have gone unnoticed.

Peterhead Modellers & Wargamers Club

This is a new club being formed at present which will occupy the cabin at Dales Park (near the skateboard area).

It is intended to have a wargaming and model rail area as well as workbenches for any modellers looking for an area to build or maintain their hobby.

Flying Clubs

Buchan Aeromodellers

This club was formed about 20 years ago to promote the hobby of aeromodelling in the Buchan area. They are non-profit organisation offering a wide range of help and advice in all aspects of building & flying both aeroplanes and helicopters. The main flying times are Saturday and Sunday afternoons, weather permitting, but many members fly in the summer evenings as well.

Inverurie & District Model Flying Club

Inverurie and District Model Flying club operates to provide a suitable and safe environment for the enjoyment of model aircraft flying. Our membership is open to all, and whether you are a complete novice or a seasoned veteran you will benefit from what we have to offer at IDMFC. Our flying site caters for all forms of model aircraft and is available all year round to its members. Where are we?
Our flying field is located 8 miles north of Inverurie near the village of Meikle Wartle in Aberdeenshire. We can be found by taking the B9001 from Inverurie and looking for the Meikle Wartle turnoff. The flying field is situated in a rural area with unobstructed views in all directions with Mount Bennachie providing a picturesque backdrop. There is ample car parking space for members and visitors, a picnic and BBQ area, pit area, fenced off starting area and two open runways.

The Club was established in 1944, We are based in Broomfield Road Montrose with our flying field just a couple of hundred yards from the Club hut.
The field we use is the old montrose airfield, that was used during the war. Flying is normally on Tuesday's, Thursday's, Friday's and Sunday's. We also get together for a chat on Friday evenings after 7pm.

Aberdeen AeroModellers Flying Club (AAMFC) encourages all forms of radio controlled model flying, both fixed wing and helicopter. Buchanness Radio Yacht Club.

Aberdeen Model Boat Club

AMBC encourages all types of model craft, including steam, electric, submarines and yachts. Modellers with any other type of boat are more than welcome.

The AMBC met at Duthie Park lower pond every Sunday morning from )9:00 to 13:00 throughout the year and Wedenesday evenings during the summer.

Model Railway Clubs

Port Erroll - Cruden Bay

This is not a club as such, but is a very good layout run by locals on a Sunday between 14:00 and 17:00. You are more than welcome to pop in to have a look and ask any questions you may have.

The layout is in the hall opposite the bridge over to the beach down towards the harbour area.

Donation are always welcome to help support the costs of running an open to the public system.

Aberdeen MRC has a vast range of members from the very young to the not so young! We are particularly keen to encourage the younger members to join the club.

We currently meet in Bucksburn on a Wednesday night from 19:30 but we are making a move shortly to a new location in Aberdeen so keep looking back for more details.

We regularly attend exhibitions with our layouts. At present we have N, OO, HO and O gauge layouts, some up and running and others under construction. If any of these interest you just drop in and take a look.

The club meets on Tuesday and Friday nights from 7:30pm (approx).

New members are always welcome to the club. So why not drop in for a visit to our clubrooms for a chat and a cup of coffee.

There is no obligation to join but if you do decide to become a member you can become as much or as little involved as you wish.

The Moray Model Railway Group (MMRG) was founded in 1983 and meets every Wednesday evening in Blacks' Barn, Sherrifston Farm, just off the A96 main road between Elgin and Lhanbryde. (Click here for map) There is always a warm and friendly welcome to anyone, no matter what age, who is interested in joining. Just come along on a Wednesday evening.
The club owns a number of layouts which have been exhibited at various shows around the country, including at the annual Warley National Model Railway Exhibition held at the NEC, Birmingham. Presently being exhibited is a 7mm scale layout, 'Glenbarrie', which is based on the old Glenbarry station with a few modifications. There are plans to extend this model for exhibition in 2004 at various venues around Scotland with, possibly, the odd excursion into England.

The Group has a high profile within the Scottish model railway scene and is an active member of the Association of Model Railway Societies of Scotland. (AMRSS). As well as building models, the Group also has an active social side which includes visits to various venues around the country and also, during the winter, the organisation of courses on all aspects of railway modelling.

Perth Model Railway Club (www.perthmrc.com)

Established around 1960 (we are not sure of the exact date - can anyone help?), our club exists to promote the hobby of Railway Modelling in and around Perth. We meet every Thursday evening at our club room near Kinfauns in Perthshire and always welcome new members to come along for a look around before joining.

EMRC was formed in 1987 and are members of the Association of Model Railway Societies in Scotland (AMRSS). Our stated aim is to promote and encourage general interest in any aspect connected with railways and modelling. EMRC membership numbers have grown steadily over the years and the role is currently 28.

All members can have their own keys if they wish and are free to use club facilities at any time although the usual club night is Thursday. Once a month club business is dealt with, otherwise the rest of the evening is down to those present. Some like to add to one of the club layouts while others just go to gossip, or best of all, to run trains.
